After a brief hiatus, Drag Race Brasil is returning for Season 2. This time around, 10 fierce drag queens are competing for the title of Brazil’s Next Drag Superstar.
The very first season of Drag Race Brasil aired in 2023. And the show is hosted by Grag Queen, who won the first season of Queen of the Universe in 2021. Twelve drag queens vied for the crown and Organzza became the first winner of the Brazilian spin-off in Season 1. And Aquarela was crowned the Miss Congeniality of that season. Two years later and Drag Race Brasil is finally back for a second season.
As for the judges, Bruna Braga and Dudu Bertholini will once again join Grag Queen on the judging panel. And until the second season of Drag Race Brasil premieres on WOW Presents Plus worldwide on July 10, here are the 10 queens who are competing to be Brasil’s Next Drag Superstar.
Adora Black hails from Brasília, Brazil. In Portuguese, her name means “love Black,” which celebrates her Afro-Brazilian identity. Beyond being a drag performer, she is an artist that’s ready to slay any design challenges. Adora Black recently won the title of Prêmio Jorge Lafond Drag Revelação 2024 and she’s coming for Brasil’s Drag Superstar next.
Bhelchi is representing the São Paulo drag scene. Her drag name is a reference to legendary Brazilian singer Belchior. After studying fashion, she is also ready to dominate any design challenges that come her way. In addition to drag, Bhelchi is a teacher and choreographer.
Chanel is coming to the competition from São Gonçalo. She is known for her impressive power of transformation in drag. Chanel has gone from channeling icon Diana Ross to becoming the possessed girl, aka Regan MacNeil, from The Exorcist. Her drag name is inspired by the character Chanel Oberlin from Scream Queens.
DesiRée Beck hails from Salvador, Brazil. She celebrates her Bahian heritage with her drag and blends that with her pop star aspirations. DesiRée Beck is known for humor and wit, so she’s ready to bring the heat in the reading challenge.
Melina Blley is representing the Rio de Janeiro drag scene. Known for her otherworldly performances, being a DJ, costume design, and wig styling, she is one queen that can do it all. Melina Blley was inspired to become a drag artist by watching RuPaul’s Drag Race season three winner Raja.
Mellody Queen comes to the competition from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She is making waves in the country as a trans drag artist. Mellody Queen started her drag career in the dance group Devassa. Her first name is inspired by the singer Melody from the Pussycat Dolls. She is ready to bring the pop star energy to the competition.
Mercedez Vulcão is another drag artist who is representing the scene in São Paulo. From her love of performing in theater, she found her passion for drag after portraying female characters on the stage. Mercedez Vulcão is very much inspired by theater and film and translates those references through her drag.
Paola Hoffmann Van Cartier hails from Vila Velha, Brazil. She is known in her country for being a fierce pageant queen. Her drag name pays homage to her Italian roots and her drag mother Vanessa Van Cartier, who won the second season of Drag Race Holland. Paola Hoffmann Van Cartier also co-founded the House of Hoffmann with Elaysa Hoffmann.
Poseidon Drag is another queen who is representing the Rio de Janeiro scene. Through her drag, she is showing a different side to the scene with her creative and comedic chops. Poseidon Drag is a drag queen with a theater background that knows how to entertain a crowd in every way possible.
Ruby Nox comes to the competition from Recife, BR. She blends her love of burlesque and theater into her sensual drag style. She was inspired to get into drag by watching RuPaul’s Drag Race season two runner-up Raven and Dita Von Teese.
