With anticipation building, attending this year’s Sueños Music Festival promises to be an unforgettable dive into the heart of Latine music and culture. The annual festival is taking place this weekend (May 24 to 25) at Grant Park in Chicago, IL, and headlining the 2025 edition are Shakira, Don Omar, and a special performance by Peso Pluma, who is returning after his set was canceled last year due to the weather conditions.

As an attendee, you’ll have two days to enjoy many performances across genres. Artists like Arcángel, El Alfa, Óscar Maydon, Maria Becerra, El Malilla, and more performing on Saturday and on Sunday, you get to dance to the tunes by Bellakath, Wisin, Tito Double P, Jhayco, and Grupo Frontera.

This weekend, attendees will experience the high-energy sounds of reggaeton, regional Mexican, dembow, and more. The festival offers something for every kind of fan. Before you head to have a fun time, here’s how you can prepare to enjoy the music and festivities to the fullest. Take a look at the five things you must have on you before heading to Sueños Music Festival.

Blanket

It’s okay to take a break, especially now that the festival will have two stages for the first time since it started. The rest is needed — trust us. What better way to rest than on your own blanket, or even watch your favorite artist lying on the ground? The blanket serves as a comfort and protector to keep your outfit clean.

Reusable Water Bottle

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Not only because it’s essential, but also because it will give you the energy you need to keep going all weekend. You bring your usable water bottle, and Sueños has the H2O. “Remember to stay hydrated and keep cool by visiting the Hydration Stations for free, cool, filtered water and cooling stations placed all around the venue,” it states on their website. Besides, who wants to pay for overpriced bottled water?

Clear Bag

A clear bag is a festival and concert must-have. It makes it easier for you to get through security, and it looks cute. Also, many festivals usually recommend or require this type of bag. With so many options and a wide range of colors, if the clear is too plain, you get everything you need while getting to the stages faster to enjoy your favorite artist.

Power Bank

Did you even go to a festival if you didn’t record? We all love to relive and post our good times, but doing so kills our phones’ batteries. An option to consider to keep you charged for all the sets you want is Verizon’s Magnetic Wireless Power Bank. Why decide if you save your battery to record a set or call a ride-hailing service by the end of the festival when you can do both?

Sunglasses

This weekend’s weather in Chicago might not bring much sunshine, but that could change. Sunglasses aren’t just about shielding your eyes from the sun; they’re a versatile accessory that can elevate your entire outfit, rain or shine. Whether you’re going for a bold, fashion-forward festival look or something more classic, the right pair of frames can add that personal touch to your look.
