Anitta made a splash at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards with a performance that featured special guests Fat Joe, Tiago PZK, and DJ Khaled. The Brazilian superstar kicked off her set with her latest single, “Paradise,” and was soon joined by Nuyorican star Fat Joe and DJ Khaled, who added their signature energy to the hip-hop banger.
Anitta then transitioned into a vibrant performance of “Alegria” with Argentine singer Tiago PZK, seamlessly blending Portuguese and Spanish as they brought Brazilian funk to the VMAs stage. She closed her set with a high-energy twerk session to her track “Savage Funk,” accompanied by a group of dancers, bringing her trademark Brazilian flair to the show.
This wasn’t Anitta’s first time on the VMAs stage; she made her debut in 2022 with “Envolver” and returned last year with a medley including “Used to Be” and “Funk Rave.” Her presence has been consistently robust, and she has proudly represented Brazil each time she’s performed. Anitta has previously won two VMAs, both in the Best Latin category, for “Envolver” and “Funk Rave.”
The stage wasn’t the only place Anitta was making a statement. On the red carpet, she turned heads in a look featuring a white corset-style dress with intricate lace-up detailing, paired with a sheer hood and flowing cape.
She was also one of the most-nominated Latine artists of the night, tying with Rauw Alejandro. Anitta received two nominations in the Best Latin category for “Bellakeo” with Peso Pluma and “Mil Veces,” with the latter also earning a nod for Best Editing.
