Carlos Vives is celebrating his legendary career in a big way. Yesterday (May 3), the Colombian icon revealed the dates for his El Tour De Los 30 in the U.S.

Carlos Vives has a music career that spans over three decades. He has won two Grammy Awards and 17 Latin Grammy Awards. In 2021, he sang the theme song “Colombia, Mi Encanto” for Disney’s Encanto movie. He has also recorded hits like “La Bicicleta” with Shakira and “Robarte Un Beso” with Sebastián Yatra.

To celebrate his decades in the music industry, Carlos Vives will perform in concerts across the U.S. on El Tour De Los 30. The tour kicks off on Aug. 19 in New York City. Vives will visit eight more cities throughout the fall, including Chicago, L.A., Miami, and Houston. Pre-sale tickets are now available. Tickets to the general public will be released tomorrow, May 5, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Last month, Carlos Vives was honored with the Legend Award at the Latin American Music Awards. That same day, Shakira took a moment to honor his impact on Instagram. In a post, she wrote about Vives’ dedication to proudly representing the Colombian music scene.

“Artists like you appear every thousand years, so today we want to honor you,” Shakira wrote. “What you have done for our Colombia, neither politicians nor philanthropists have achieved. Thank you for rescuing our folklore, and reminding us what we were, who we are, and what we can be. You have brought children, elders, and those who did not know our customs, nor spoke our language a piece of us in every song.”

Last month, Vives released his new album Escalona Nunca Se Había Grabado Así. He paid tribute to the late Colombian artist and composer Rafael Escalona by recording some of his classic songs.
