Could there be new music on the way from Shakira? The Colombian pop icon was spotted recording what appeared to be a music video with Anitta, Danna, Winnie Harlow, and Lele Pons on Saturday night (Sept. 14).
After a seven-year break from her last album, Shakira returned in March with Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. The LP was loaded with hits like “BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53” with Bizarrap, “Monotonía” with Ozuna, and “Puntería” featuring Cardi B. In June, Shakira hinted at possibly releasing more music in her Rolling Stone cover story. “There are some songs we have lying around,” she said. “They’re in storage. It’s not a new album, but let’s just say I have a new project.”
It appears that music from that “project” might soon see the light of day. Over the weekend, Shakira was filming something at LIV Nightclub in Miami, FL. She was dancing and singing along to an unreleased reggaeton song rumored to be called “Soltera.” In the preview played at the club, Shakira can be heard singing in Spanish, “I went out to clear my head and I’m tired of being turned off.” She also sings, “I have the right to behave badly / To have a good time / I’m on the loose and now I can do whatever I want.”
Brazilian singer Anitta and Mexican pop star Danna were also spotted filming with Shakira. There’s speculation that one or both of them could be featured in the song. Shakira was also joined by Venezuelan-American influencer Lele Pons and Canadian model Winnie Harlow. There’s no word yet on when to expect this potential Shakira release.
On Nov. 2, Shakira will kick off her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, CA. She will also perform at the Besame Mucho Festival in Los Angeles, CA, on Dec. 21.
