After scoring one of the biggest Latine hits of last year, Eslabón Armado and DannyLux reunited for another collaboration. Released yesterday (Aug. 17), the two Mexican-American acts star in the new music video for “Si Supieras.”

The song is off Eslabon Armado’s Nostalgia. When the LP came out in May, it debuted at No. 9 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. The sierreño group made history with the first regional Mexican music album to appear in the top 10 of the chart. That was the same week Bad Bunny debuted at No. 1 with his Un Verano Sin Ti album. Tovar was excited to reunite with DannyLux for “Si Supieras.”

“It was cool because I feel like me and him are very close friends,” Eslabón Armado’s lead singer, Pedro Tovar, tells Remezcla. “Ever since we did ‘Jugaste y Sufrí,’ we’ve hung out. We’ve done like friend things and sh*t, so it was cool, the second time, going into the studio together and doing another song. It was cool.”

Last year, Eslabón Armado and DannyLux teamed up for “Jugaste y Sufrí.” The song became a hit, and DannyLux, who wrote the song by himself, shot to the top of Billboard’s Latin Songwriters chart. DannyLux pulled ahead of artists like Bad Bunny and Ozuna.

But for this new track, Tovar had a hand in writing the lyrics. “It’s a song that my boy, DannyLux, he wrote, but I kind of did a couple of verses, a couple of lines that we changed,” Tovar says. “He wrote that song. He showed it to me and I really liked it.”

With Eslabón Armado and DannyLux making regional Mexican music appeal to their Gen-Z fans, the music video for the haunting song pulls inspiration from one of that generation’s most popular shows. Their violet-tinted house party is reminiscent of the scenes in HBO’s Euphoria series.

Next up, Eslabón Armado will appear at Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami. The event runs from Sept. 26 to Sept. 30. Tovar said he’s already hard at work on the group’s next album that should be coming later this year.
