Carín León continues to take música mexicana to new places. Today (Mar. 20), the Mexican superstar is exclusively revealing to Remezcla that he will open for one of the Rolling Stones’ upcoming concerts.

Thanks to his limitless view of música mexicana, León has become one of the genre’s biggest stars. In particular, he has become a leading voice in bridging the worlds of música mexicana and country music. León’s hit single “Primera Cita” blended his Mexican sound with elements of country and blues. This year, he teamed up with country star Keith Urban for the song “Si Me Llevas Contigo” with Rosario. His latest single, “The One (Pero No Como Yo),” is a collaboration with another country superstar, Kane Brown.

Now León will bring música mexicana to one of the biggest rock ‘n’ roll stages. He will appear as a special guest and opening act on the Rolling Stones’ Stones Tour ’24 Hackney Diamonds. For one night only, León will join the iconic British group at their State Farm Stadium concert in Glendale, AZ, on May 7. Tickets for this concert and the full tour are on sale now. León is expected to sing his biggest hits at the top of the show. The Rolling Stones will then perform timeless classics like “Start Me Up,” “Gimme Shelter,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” and “Satisfaction.”

Last month, León performed in one of the most important venues in country music. He made history as the first música mexicana artist to grace the Grand Ole Opry stage in Nashville, TN. To sing in that venue is like a rite of passage for every country artist — Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, and many other country music stars have performed there. Next month, León will perform at both the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals.
