Here Are the Latine Nominees for the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards nominations were announced this morning (Aug. 6). Rauw Alejandro, Bad Bunny, Anitta, Karol G, and many other Latine artists are among the nominees.

The most-nominated Latine artists this year are Anitta and Rauw Alejandro. The Brazilian superstar received three nominations. She has been nominated twice in the Best Latin category for “Mil Veces” and her collaboration “Bellakeo” with Mexican singer Peso Pluma. The former has also been nominated for the Best Editing category. Rauw Alejandro received three nominations as well for his cinematic “Touching the Sky” music video. The Puerto Rican star is nominated for Best Latin, Best Cinematography, and Best Choreography. 

Right behind Anitta and Rauw is Bad Bunny, who has two nominations. He is up for Artist of the Year against Ariana Grande, Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter, SZA, and Taylor Swift. Bad Bunny’s “Monaco” video has also been nominated for the Best Latin category. The rest of the Best Latin category includes more global hits. Karol G is nominated in the category for the Selena-inspired “Mi Ex Tenía Razón.” Shakira and Cardi B’s “Puntería” and  Myke Towers’ “LaLa” are up for Best Latin as well.

Other Latine nominees include Mexican rock group The Warning in the MTV Push Performance of the Year category. The women are nominated for their performance of “Automatic Sun.” Cuban-Mexican singer Camila Cabello, who returned with her album C,XOXO in June, is the sole Latina in the Best Pop category.

The most-nominated artist this year is Taylor Swift with 10 nominations. Another top nominee is BLACKPINK’s Lisa with four nominations. Earlier today, she announced that she will release her new single “New Woman” with previous VMA winner Rosalía on Aug. 15. 

The 2024 Video Music Awards will air live on MTV from the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, NY, on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
