Daddy Yankee’s fans have a chance to catch his final concert at home. Today (Nov. 21), the Puerto Rican icon announced that he will livestream his farewell show from Puerto Rico.
Last year, Daddy Yankee announced that he was bowing out of the music scene with his retirement. The “Gasolina” hit-maker, who helped globalize reggaeton music, then released his last album, Legenddaddy. Daddy Yankee followed that up with his sold-out La Última Vuelta World Tour, which visited the U.S., Spain, and many Latin American countries.
To formally close out his music career, Daddy Yankee will embark on his La Meta concerts in Puerto Rico. From Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, he will perform in the final concerts of his career at the iconic Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan.
“This will be my greatest achievement, to be with my people and with all those who will visit my beautiful island for my retirement,” Daddy Yankee wrote on Instagram.
Daddy Yankee’s fans will be able to livestream the final La Meta concert, held on Sunday, Dec. 3. He teamed up with the Kiswe video platform, which will host the immersive livestream experience. Fans can already buy their virtual tickets to watch Daddy Yankee’s last concert from home. For $20, they can view the concert live and will have access for 48 hours to rewatch it. The concert will start at 5:30 p.m. PST.
“This historic night will mark the end of a three-decade journey for one of Latin America’s most iconic artists of our time,” Glenn Booth, CEO of Kiswe, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to be chosen to help millions of fans experience Daddy Yankee’s final performance on a touring stage and witness his heartfelt goodbye.”
This past year, Daddy Yankee released a string of singles, including the recent “Bonita” and “Beachy” featuring Omar Courtz.
