Following the release of her collaboration with Peso Pluma, Cardi B is teasing her fans with a potential Spanish-language album release in the future. On June 23, the Dominican-American rapper asked her fans if they wanted a Spanish album – and the response was positive.

Cardi posted a poll asking her public: “Y’all want a Spanish album me?” The poll gave an option of “yes” or “no,” while Cardi’s latest bilingual banger, “PUT EM IN THE FRIDGE,” played in the background. She mouthed her Spanish-language hard-hitting bars: “¿Sí? ¿No? / Encima de los beats los asesino / Tengo al presidente de vecino / El mundo es mío como Al Pa—, ja / Como Al Pacino.”

Earlier today (June 24), the Instagram story poll results were positive. Seventy-nine percent of her fans voted yes (380,127 votes) while 21 percent voted no (99,706 votes). She posted the results with the words: “OK AFTER MY ENGLISH ALBUM !!” Her upcoming highly-anticipated sophomore English-language album would follow Invasion of Privacy, released in 2018.

Her joint track with La Doble P isn’t the first time La Cardi has rapped in Spanish. She’s featured her Dominican roots in songs like Shakira’s “Puntería” and Ozuna’s “La Modelo.” She also sprinkled Spanish in songs like Anitta and Myke Towers’ “Me Gusta,” “Bongos,” and even released a bilingual Latine trap version of her breakthrough hit “Bodak Yellow.” She additionally championed Bad Bunny and J Balvin on their bilingual rap hit “I Like It” before they were both household names.

Furthermore, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the “WAP” singer revealed that she wants to drop a Spanish-language album “in the near future.” She told the magazine, “As soon as I finish this album, I am going to f*cking Puerto Rico,” where she wants to make reggaeton. She also mentioned that she’s “really into” merengue típico and bachata.

However, there’s no official release date for her English-language album yet, which would be released before her Spanish-language record. Although the rapper said there wouldn’t be a new album out this year in a now-deleted tweet, the aforementioned cover story revealed a 2024 release is still part of her plan – so we’ll have to wait until then.
