As Karol G nears the end of her Mañana Será Bonito Tour, she is already looking towards the future. Today (June 13), the Colombian superstar confirmed she is working on her next album.
Karol G’s last album Mañana Será Bonito came out in February 2023. She made history as the first woman to reach No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart with an all-Spanish LP. That album included hits like “Provenza,” “X Si Volvemos” featuring Romeo Santos, and “TQG” with Shakira. That following August, Karol G dropped Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season), which she considered to be a mixtape. Around the same time, Karol G embarked on the ongoing Mañana Será Bonito Tour.
In her cover story with Vogue España, Karol G opened up about the new music she is recording. She revealed that the follow-up to Mañana Será Bonito has actually been in development since last year.
“I’ve been working on my new album since the middle of last year,” Karol G shared. “Although I was already promoting Mañana Será Bonito, in June 2023, I had the first idea to start expressing things in my songs and, this year, since January 2, after spending New Year’s Eve with my family in Colombia, I went to Los Angeles and started working day after day in the studio.”
Karol G is currently on the final leg of her Mañana Será Bonito Tour in Europe. The next show will take place on June 14 at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. The final show in Europe is scheduled for July 23 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain. On Sept. 20, Karol G will return to Brazil to perform in the Rock in Rio festival. On social media, she teased her next single, which will be a collaboration with Coca-Cola’s Coke Studios.
