Is Karol G headlining Coachella 2026? On Sept. 9, Rolling Stone published an article suggesting that American popstar Sabrina Carpenter and the Colombiana are due to headline the massive three-day festival next year. Though it’s not confirmed by Coachella, here’s why we think it’s possible.
Karol’s TROPICOQUETA’s rollout began in May with the release of her first single, “LATINA FOREVA.” In early June, she revealed the name and inspiration behind her new album. Later, she unveiled the album’s cover art and release date. However, after dropping the genre-bending album on June 20, she skipped out on one thing: the tour announcement that usually follows.
Now, three months later, fans are still waiting for tour dates. Is it possible that Karol and her team are waiting to fully confirm a headlining spot at Coachella 2026 to work a tour route around it? If this happens, Karol would become the first Latina headliner, following Bad Bunny’s steps as the first solo Latino headliner in 2023. It’s not too far-fetched either — the Colombian star has already made history as Lollapalooza Chicago’s first Latina headliner in 2023. Coachella could very well be her next feat.
While we most likely won’t know until November or beyond, Karol is still booked and busy. Last week (Sept. 5), she performed YouTube’s first-ever NFL live broadcast halftime show, where she gave fans a glimpse of her TROPICOQUETA era and a themed grander scale performance. Up next, she’s set to live her vedette fantasy in France, performing selected shows at the famous cabaret club Crazy Horse Paris from Sept. 25 to 28. This will mark the first time in history that a Latina artist will perform at the famous show.

With this in mind, Karol’s ongoing accomplishments could make her the first Latina to perform at the iconic Coachella festival. Though organizers missed the opportunity by not booking Shakira last year, this could be a way to put a spotlight back on Latineas who deserve a headlining slot.
Coachella 2026 will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA, from Apr. 10 to 12, and Apr. 17 to 19.
