With the release of Karol G’s Netflix documentary today (May 8), it also comes with new music. The Colombian superstar surprised her fans with the empowering song “Milagros.”

This morning, her documentary KAROL G: MAÑANA FUE MUY BONITO (KAROL G: TOMORROW WAS BEAUTIFUL) started streaming on Netflix. The film documents Karol G becoming the first Latina to headline a global stadium tour. She also opens up about her past relationship with Anuel AA, calling that chapter of her life a “nightmare.” Later, Karol G reveals that she first started going out with her current partner Feid after they played Nintendo together.

In addition to the documentary, Karol G gave her fans the surprise gift of new music. In her Instagram stories, she posted a link to “Milagros” and wrote in Spanish, “I’ll leave this here so you can listen to it when you wake up.” This song marks her first taste of new music this year.

The folk-pop song “Milagros” is a change of pace from the perreo that Karol G is known for. She touches on her journey to the top in the personal and inspirational lyrics. In Spanish, Karol G sings, “Every time I get up, I realize how blessed I am / I go through the world doing my thing / Opening paths and healing wounds / Leaving seeds on the shores of every heart that’s listening to me.”

Karol G also reflects on overcoming the difficult moments in her life in “Milagros.” She sings, “I learned to accept myself with my mistakes / With my fears and my doubts / But to keep walking with confidence.” The whimsical track shows a different side to Karol G’s artistry.

Last year, she released the global hit “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido” and “+57” with Feid, J Balvin, Maluma, Ryan Castro, Blessd, Ovy on the Drums, and DFZM.
