Natanael Cano made his U.S. late night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. The rising Mexican singer performed his latest hit “Ya Yo Sé.”

As part of Apple Music’s Up Next program, Cano’s campaign with the streaming giant included a performance on Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show. This is the biggest break for the Rancho Humilde star on American TV so far.

Kimmel did his best to introduce Cano with his gringo accent. Natanael made it known that his unique brand of corridos were on a world stage. “For all you guys tonight, corridos tumbados [on] Jimmy Kimmel!” he said proudly in Spanish. “Puro Rancho Humilde!” Cano tore through the fiery track “Ya Yo Sé” from his new album Soy El Nata. He was backed by a team of guitar players. The virtual performance marked an impressive debut for Cano. It’s echa pa’lante for the corridos tumbados from here.

Despite being shut out of this year’s Latin Grammy Award nominations, Cano is on a roll with his recent partnership with Atlantic Records and Warner Music Latina. Kimmel has been spotlighting more Latin music on his show lately. Two weeks ago Brazilian superstar Anitta performed her single “Me Gusta” with virtual appearances from Cardi B and Myke Towers.
