More performers have been announced for the upcoming Premios Juventud awards. Among the updates is a special performance celebrating the 20th anniversary of Puerto Rico duo Zion y Lennox and The Wailers uniting with Bob Marley’s grandchildren and a few Latin music stars.

Despite the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Premios Juventud will carry on this year and “follow strict guidelines and restrictions, in full compliance with local authorities and public health recommendations, to implement this year’s show.” As we previously announced, Colombian reggaetón stars J Balvin and Karol G lead the pack with 12 and 9 nominations respectively. Puerto Rican acts Bad Bunny and Anuel AA follow with 8 and 7 nominations each.

J Balvin and Karol G will also perform at this year’s Premios Juventud. To celebrate 20 years since the formation of a reggaetón duo that paved the way for them, Zion y Lennox will be honored with a special performance. Today, it was also revealed that The Wailers will perform a song with “an important message of justice, love, and inclusion” alongside Cedella and Skip Marley. Joining them will be singer-songwriters Pedro Capó, Kany García, Camilo, and Rauw Alejandro. Pitbull will later hit the stage with his own inspirational anthem.

Corridos tumbados will be taking center stage at the Premios Juventud for the first time with a special performance by Mexican artist Natanael Cano, who has three nominations. Other performers to watch out for include Latin pop group CNCO, Ozuna, and Rafa Pabön (one of the leading voices in the Conciencia Collective for #BlackLivesMatter). Host and Colombian heartthrob Sebastián Yatra will perform his duet “No Bailes Sola” with Danna Paola, the rising Mexican star of Netflix’s Élite series.

Ricky Martin and Becky G will receive the “Agent of Change” award for using their star power for a good cause. Premios Juventud will air live Thursday, Aug. 13, on Univision at 8PM. Amara La Negra will host a special pre-show an hour before the awards.
