Arca’s long-awaited collaboration with Tokischa is finally here! Today (Sept. 13), the Venezuelan superstar released her music video for “Chama,” which features both artists looking pregnant.

Arca and Tokischa first teased their collaboration back in November when they were spotted at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, NY. Tokischa sang “Chama” live a few times solo while on her 2024 Nací Perra Pride Tour. Arca later performed it with Tokischa at the LadyLand Festival in June. During that concert in New York City, they were also joined by Madonna, who came out as a special guest. After nearly a year of waiting, Arca has unleashed “Chama” upon the world.

“Chama” is a transcendental yet transgressive dance track that blends in elements of Jersey club and reggaeton. Tokischa and Arca sing about being powerful and celestial women. In Arca’s verse, she appears to offer a sort of prayer for femmes and her trans sisters. “This one’s for all the dolls, the queens, and the good little witches,” she sings in Spanish. With both Arca and Tokischa being a part of the LGBTQ+ community, their dreamy collaboration also doubles as a queer Latine anthem.

The music video for “Chama” takes the song to another level. The otherworldly visual was directed by STILLZ, who has previously worked with Bad Bunny on videos like “Yo Perreo Sola,” “Tití Me Preguntó,” and “Monaco.” Arca and Tokischa appear to be pregnant with prosthetic baby bumps. While looking like goddesses, they twerk and backbend in the middle of the woods. This duo gives a whole other meaning to being mothers.

Back in June, Arca made a surprise appearance at Paris Fashion Week. She stomped down the runway at the Jean Paul Gaultier by Nicolas Di Felice Fall 2024 Couture show. Tokischa recently started her own record label
