Could there be a Pepe Aguilar and Christian Nodal collaboration on the way? Last night (Aug. 8), Nodal and his new suegro were spotted singing the classic “Por Mujeres Como Tú” together.
Last month, Nodal became a part of one of the most famous families in música mexicana, the Aguilars. Over a month after revealing that he was in a relationship with Ángela Aguilar, the two got married in a private ceremony at a ranch in Morelos, Mexico. On Saturday night, Nodal and Ángela made their first public appearance as newlyweds. Nodal shared a kiss with his wife onstage during a concert in Mazatlán, Sinaloa.
Nodal is spending more time with the Aguilar family. On Aug. 7, her father, Pepe Aguilar, turned 56-years-old. On his Instagram, he has posted many videos from his birthday celebrations with his family, including Nodal. In one emotional moment, Pepe got serenaded with a performance of “Las Mañanitas” by Ángela, her brother Leonardo Aguilar, and Nodal.
In another post, Pepe showed that he is hitting off well with his new son-in-law. There’s a video of Nodal singing his heart out with his suegro to the 1998 hit “Por Mujeres Como Tú.” In the comments of the post, people praised their off-the-cuff performance. One person wrote in Spanish, “Don Pepe, record this duet. One of my favorite songs.” Another person added, “How beautiful those two voices sound together.”
Maybe the positive comments could inspire Pepe to release a new version of “Por Mujeres Como Tú” with Nodal in the future. Back in May, Pepe dropped his most recent album Que Llueva Tequila. He blended influences of rock into música mexicana in his songs like “Hasta Que Me Duermo.” Following the announcement of her relationship with Nodal, Ángela dropped the song “Gotitas Saladas,” which she wrote with one of his exes.
