Two of reggaeton’s most iconic duos have joined forces again. For the first time in over 10 years, Jowell y Randy teamed up with Wisin y Yandel for their new music video, “Si Te Pillo,” released on Dec. 15.
2022 marked a return for both Jowell y Randy and Wisin y Yandel. Back in Oct., Jowell y Randy returned with “Toro,” their first single as a lead artist since the release of their 2020 album Viva El Perreo. After a few years of making music as solo artists, Wisin y Yandel reunited for their final album La Última Misión. Following the end of their La Última Misión Tour, Wisin y Yandel wrapped up performing as a duo act.
Jowell y Randy and Wisin y Yandel last collaborated over a decade ago. In 2010, the duos joined forces for Jowell y Randy’s “Loco” remix. Now they’re teaming up once again for “Si Te Pillo.” Wisin opens the song by saying, “Two of the most powerful forces in música urbana have united: Jowell y Randy and W y Yandel.” In the sultry reggaeton song, both duos sing about chasing their love interests around the world. There’s a special shout-out to women in Andalusia with the use of “estáis” in the chorus. Wisin y Yandel comes through with a more aggressive edge, while Jowell y Randy round the song with their playful flows.
The music video for “Si Te Pillo” was filmed in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Jowell y Randy sing alongside Wisin y Yandel in a warehouse. Jowell y Randy performed at two of Wisin y Yandel’s 14 concerts this month at El Coliseo in Puerto Rico. The “Safaera” singers also joined Bad Bunny on multiple concert dates for his World’s Hottest Tour. Benito called Jowell y Randy “the best reggaetoneros in history” during his concerts in Puerto Rico earlier this year.
