WATCH: Karol G Held Her Own Performing With Andrea Bocelli at the Vatican

A year after recording a duet of “Vivo Por Ella” with Andrea Bocelli, Karol G finally performed it live with him. On Saturday night (Sept. 13), the Colombian superstar was a part of a special concert in the Vatican.
In August 2024, Bocelli revealed that he had recorded a new version of his classic “Vivo Por Ella” with Karol G. The updated version of the song was included on the Italian icon’s album, Duets (30th Anniversary). Fast forward to now, Bocelli and Pharrell Williams co-directed the Grace for the World concert in the Vatican’s St. Peter’s Square. They invited Karol G to perform at the event, which lineup included John Legend, BamBam, Clipse, Teddy Swims, Jelly Roll, and Jennifer Hudson.
“The most sublime moment of my career was today!!!” Karol G wrote in a post on Instagram. “Literally experienced nirvana in its purest state and nobody can take away the happiness and pride that I have for myself.”
With Bocelli and Karol G present for the concert in the Vatican, they took advantage of the moment to perform “Vivo Por Ella” live for the first time together. La Bichota stepped out in a sparkling black gown to join Bocelli, who wore a black tuxedo. Her voice soared during the performance as Bocelli’s voice filled the entire St. Peter’s Square. The crowd of over 80,000 people cheered for both artists after their moving performance.
Later, for her own set, Karol G walked out with her father to the stage in St. Peter’s Square. This time, she was backed by a full choir as she sang the feel-good “Mientras Me Curo Del Cora” from her 2023 album Mañana Será Bonito. Karol G’s next shows will take place at the Crazy Horse Paris. From Sept. 25 to 28, she will bring her latest LP Tropicoqueta to life at the burlesque club.
