The Queen of Christmas has returned. Mariah Carey teamed up with fellow vocal powerhouses Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson in the “Oh Santa!” remix music video that dropped today (Dec. 4).
The “Oh Santa!” remix is part of the Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special that’s now streaming on Apple TV+. After scoring her historic 19th No. 1 single on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart last year with “All I Want for Christmas is You,” the pop icon is on a quest to get her 20th chart-topper. Carey holds the record for most No. 1 singles by a solo artist. With a 20th No. 1, she would tie with The Beatles, who hold the record for the most Hot 100 chart-toppers overall.
Carey brings in the big guns with Grande and Hudson on the “Oh Santa!” remix. The song maintains the original version’s festive R&B sound. The three women sound spectacular together as they take turns to really belt it out. The best moment goes to Carey harmonizing her iconic whistle register tone with Grande’s, who holds her own alongside her idol. Carey, Grande, and J-Hud give our Christmas playlists the gift of heavenly vocals this year.
In the music video for the “Oh Santa!” remix, Carey congregates with Grande and Hudson in Santa’s toy shop. Oddly Santa never appears, but the ladies have Mariah’s daughter Monroe Cannon moving while the elves are dropping it low.
“Oh Santa!” was first released on Carey’s 2010 album Merry Christmas II You. This week, she launched her delivery-only cookie line for her fans.
