Rauw Alejandro is pushing reggaeton to new places with a Japanese group. The Puerto Rican superstar and his frequent collaborator Tainy teamed up with MILLENNIUM PARADE for the action-packed “KIZAO” music video, released this morning (Oct. 18).
In el movimiento, Rauw Alejandro is one of the most globally-minded artists. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists around the world, like Jamaican producer Rvssian, rising Dominican star Ángel Dior, and Mexican singer Junior H. For his latest collaboration, Rauw tapped into the artistry of Japan with MILLENNIUM PARADE, a collective of musicians, directors, visual artists, and illustrators led by Daiki Tsuneta. Puerto Rican producer Tainy, who is also a fan of Japanese culture, joins them on “KIZAO.”
“I’m excited about the collaboration with MILLENNIUM PARADE, Daiki, and my brother Tainy on this new project,” Rauw Alejandro shared in a statement. “It’s been a fusion of our different worlds, bringing together the energy of Japan’s innovative sound and the rhythms of Puerto Rico. The creative chemistry has been unreal and I can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve crafted.”
“KIZAO” is a unique collaboration in which reggaeton collides with the ‘80s city pop of Japan. Daiki Tsuneta, who also fronts the J-pop rock group King Gnu, seamlessly blends his country’s edgy sound with Rauw Alejandro and Tainy’s futuristic vision of reggaeton. The animated music video, directed by MILLENNIUM PARADE‘s Cota Mori and Shu Sasaki, shows Rauw and Tainy fighting off an artificial lifeform named AISA.

“It was always a goal of mine to be able to do music in Japan, so to finally do it with MILLENNIUM PARADE and Daiki feels amazing,” Tainy added. “Happy to be a part of this amazing track and to have my brother Rauw Alejandro on it, too, makes it even better.”
Rauw Alejandro will release his next album Cosa Nuestra on Nov. 15. The LP will include his recent single “Pasaporte” featuring Mr. Naisgai, “Touching the Sky,” and “Déjame Entrar.”
