Xavi is embracing bachata music for the first time. The Mexican-American star teamed up with Manuel Turizo for his new single “En Privado,” released today (Feb. 6). Xavi also infused the Dominican genre with elements of música mexicana in the vibrant music video.

Xavi was the breakout artist of 2024 thanks to his smash “La Diabla,” which reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Top 50 Global chart. In October, he released his debut album Next, which included his other hits like “La Víctima,” “Corazón de Piedra,” and “Modo DND” featuring Tony Aguirre. While Xavi mostly stayed in the orbit of his romantic corridos previously, he is changing things up this year. He joined forces with Colombian pop star Turizo, who is known for his global hit “La Bachata.” Their worlds of music collide in “En Privado.”

The Caribbean and Mexico collide in the “En Privado” music video, where Xavi and Turizo party together. Last year, Prince Royce and Gabito Ballesteros first fused bachata with música mexicana in “Cosas de la Peda.” Now, “En Privado” seamlessly blends bachata music with corridos. Xavi and Turizo sing about sweeping the loves of their lives off their feet. Both singers offer vacation spots around the world, like Cancun or Dubai, as places where they can get to know their lovers in private. For this being Xavi’s first bachata song, his corrido-built voice sounds great among the tropical rhythms. He taps into the sensual side of his artistry with Turizo’s sultry baritone voice in this sweet serenade perfect for Valentine’s Day.

Xavi was recently spotted in the recording studio with Neton Vega and could be on his album Mi Vida Mi Muerte, which is due out Feb. 14. Turizo first dabbled in música mexicana with Grupo Frontera in “De Lunes a Lunes.” Last November, he returned with his fourth album, 201
