TGIF! On Sept. 8, Yandel teamed up with El Alfa and will.i.am to drop their latest certified club banger, “Rómpela.” Along with the single, the trio dropped a colorful, early 2000s aesthetic music video to go with it.

“Now on the street #Rompela you can get it on your favorite music platform @iamwill @elalfaeljefe @createdxonesix,” Yandel posted on Instagram.

The music video was directed by Jasz and OneSix took over the creative direction. It features colorful backgrounds and glammed-up dancers decked out in Y2K-inspired outfits. Yandel’s distinctive vocals paired with El Alfa’s incomparable flow plus will.i.am’s cool auto-tuned verse makes for a dembow-infused club-ready track. Who’s ready to hit the club this weekend?

In the music video, El Alfa delivers his verse wearing a lime green sweater, heavy gold jewelry, and studded shades. At this point, the dancers appear with bats, breaking vases and lamps, emphasizing the song’s title. By the track’s ending, El Alfa also takes a swing at a trophy.

Social media users are digging the new sound. Youtube user Izaid M wrote: “NEON16 is proving that Dembow can continue to innovate, that production is great.” Another Youtube user, VEMZ, wrote: “Yandel, El Alfa and Will I Am, I didn’t think I’d be alive to see a historic collaboration like this one.”

Others appreciate the video’s aesthetic. Social media user Juan Boggi said: “It’s good to see old school style videos again.”

On top of this collab, each artist is busy doing their thing. Yandel’s currently on his La Ultima Misión tour with Wisin. El Alfa recently released his collaboration “No Confió” with Jay Wheeler and DJ Nelson. As for will.i.am, he just dropped another dembow-inspired track, “Latina,” with Kiko El Crazy earlier this week.
