Raphy Pina will soon complete his prison sentence. Today (May 10), the CEO of Pina Records and partner of Natti Natasha revealed the date of his release from prison.
Back in December 2021, Pina was found guilty of two charges of illegal possession of firearms. He faced the possibility of 20 years in prison, but he was later handed down a sentence of three years behind bars. On May 24, 2022, Pina surrendered himself to custody of U.S. Marshalls. He is currently serving his sentence in a Florida federal prison.
Despite inaccurate social media posts saying that Pina was released from prison early, he is actually still serving his sentence. His three-year sentence is almost up, though. On Instagram, he posted a painting of a lion coming out of a prison. Pina hinted at his release date in the caption of his post.
“Much closer to [house emoji],” he wrote. “My family, the good vibes, and the prayers are keeping my mind and spirit strong. 5/24 God bless you.”
Before Pina started serving his sentence, Natti Natasha gave birth to their daughter Vida Isabelle in May 2021. A year later, the Dominican reggaetonera called Pina’s incarceration a “nightmare.” She added that she would “push forward” to raise Vida Isabelle while Pina was behind bars. Natti also opened up about the experience of taking their daughter to visit Pina in prison.
Back in December 2023, Natti Natasha released her third album, Nasty Singles. The LP featured her song “La Falta Que Me Haces,” which she dedicated to Pina during a performance at last year’s Latin American Music Awards. If Pina’s latest IG post is correct about his upcoming release date from prison, he will soon be reunited with his partner and daughter in a few more days.
