Spanish news outlet El País reported that reggaeton star Wisin has been victim of burglary in his hotel suite during his current visit to Barcelona, and it has now been confirmed by local police sources. Stolen items include jewels, clothing, and $200,000 the Boricua singer kept inside his suite’s strongbox.

Catalan police force Mossos d’Esquadra are now pursuing an investigation, as the hotel’s security cameras registered an unknown male walking out of the “Escápate Conmigo” singer’s room and carrying several bags. The robbery occurred on Wednesday October 9 at around 9 p.m. at the emblematic five-star hotel. No public comment has been made by Wisin or his team at the time of this publication.

Wisin hasn’t been the only reggaetonero who has been victim of robbery in Europe. A year ago, Daddy Yankee’s room in Valencia’s Hotel Melià was also burglarized by an impostor, who stole over 2 million euros-worth of jewels, plus some cash. Colombian singer Maluma also had over $800,000-worth of personal belongings stolen from his hotel room while attending a match during the 2018 World Cup in Moscow, Russia. And on this side of the pond, Anuel AA and Karol G’s suite in Santiago de Chile was robbed in April this year.
