There’s new music on the way from Ice Spice and Taylor Swift. The Dominican-American rapper was tapped to feature on the remix of Swift’s latest single, “Karma.”
Earlier this month, Swift chose “Karma” as the next single from her album Midnights. Today (May 24), she announced the news of teaming up with Ice Spice for the remix across her social media accounts.
“Um. SO much to tell you,” Swift wrote. “Im a massive fan of this brilliant artist and after getting to know her I can confirm: she is THE ONE to watch. So delighted to say that Karma Featuring the incredible Ice Spice will be out TOMORROW night at MIDNIGHT ET as a part of the new Midnights (Til Dawn Edition) deluxe album.”
While Swift’s fans are excited about the two stars working together, others remember that the “Love Story” singer is reportedly dating The 1975 singer Matt Healy. In April, Healy apologized for calling Ice Spice “dumb” on “The Adam Friedland Show.” He also joked with the hosts when they were saying racially insensitive comments about Ice Spice while speculating about her ethnicity.
People are sounding off online about Swift teaming up with Ice Spice. “Taylor Swift remixing Karma with Ice Spice especially after Matt Healy’s comments about Ice Spice on that podcast And the damage control Is working cuz y’all are eating it up,” wrote one person. However, other fans are excited to see Swift co-signing an up-and-coming artist like Ice Spice.
Swift’s deluxe edition of Midnights will also feature a version of “Snow on the Beach” with more of Lana Del Rey’s vocals. Ice Spice is currently flying high on the charts. She has a global hit with “Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2” alongside PinkPantheress. Last month, Nicki Minaj jumped on the remix of another of her hits, “Princess Diana.”
