Nothing's more endearing than realizing the man of your physical dreams is also in touch with his feelings, and has no qualms with expressing them freely. Take Billy Mendez, for example (not to be confused with the lead singer of Mexican band Motel). The Uruguay-born artist sings and writes from the heart, and fortunately for our vain selves, isn't bad on the eyes.

Billy used to dream of stardom from a young age, which is why he decided to head to Florida. There, he started writing for local artists in Miami and in New York, his hometown. Although he's currently unsigned, he's managed to start recording his first solo album, and hopes to one day share a stage with Shakira. Although most of the songs are ballads, it also features some pop, R&B and more Latino sounds.

Billy has chosen the mushy-wushy "Miradas" as his first single, check out the music video after the jump.

If you think there is no good indie pop out there, take Jenny Laura Jerez, a talented singer from Cartagena, Colombia and based in Miami could challenge fellow countrywoman Shakira to a hip battle.

Sure, she was crowned winner of the talent search Rumbo al Éxito 2008, sponsored by Walmart. But she is still hustling to make it big. Since then, she has opened for for Jorge Villamizar (Bacilos frontman) in concert and has worked with songwriters such as reggaetonero Noriega and Jorge Luis Pagán (Marc Anthony, Thalia).

Jenny Laura is also currently writing songs for upcoming artists in Honduras and Mexico and recently co-wrote a track for Zion & Lennox that will soon hit the radio. Just last night, she attended Premios lo Nuestro with Alexa Ferrari, a new artist she is writing for, walking the red carpet with reggaetonero De La Ghetto.

As if that wasn't keeping her busy, she is currently traveling back and forth between Miami and Puerto Rico working on her own solo material, a mix of pop, rock, and urban. The petite singer-song writer bases her songs in real-life situations and hopes to release her debut this year. Don't be surprised if you see her on your TV anytime soon!

Listen to Jenny Laura's song "Mentiroso" after the jump.

So who's excited about Valentine's Day say "Yo!"? *silence*.

How far would you go to look just like your favorite Hollywood star? Just ask Chinese 21-year old Xiaoqing who has revealed she will go under the knife to look just like our belleza latina Jessica Alba. According to Guanabee, apparently in the efforts of getting her ex-boyfriend back she will try to look like the object of his obsession. Yes, you read right, the adorable goof is crushing on Alba.

This loca woman reportedly said her boyfriend never asked her to go for surgery but allegedly told her how he wished she looked like Jess, buying her a nice blond wig for her to wear. Marriage material, per se? Now, the Shanghai Time Plastic Surgery Hospital has agreed to proceed with the several surgeries she will need free of charge in order to achieve showcase of their work.

What does Alba have to say to this? She was far beyond flattered. On Saturday she stated she is feeling distressed towards the reports of this Chinese woman trying to look like her.

Where are the men who love their women as they are? Ooh, cupid!

Jaime Bayly… ¿Presidente?

For those of you who have no idea who Jaime Bayly is: Is that rock you've been hiding under heavy, and stuff? It's quite easy to describe this character in one word: controversial. This Peruvian journalist got his late-night talk show, El francotirador, in 1991. Still doesn't ring a bell? Well, then, maybe La mujer de mi hermano or No se lo digas a nadie can refresh your memory? Both movies were based on Bayly's books. Due to his free-spirited character, he was soon called "El niño terrible" (L'enfant terrible) by his fellow countrymen. I could mention his infamous stunts, but then I could be here sitting for hours!

But just to give you a slight idea: Jaime's adventures have no limits; the man aims high. And when I say high, I mean presidential high. Yes, he revealed in his TV show last month that he will be running for president. The next elections in Peru will be held at the end of the 2011, and Jaime is not wasting any time. Although he said he is not investing any money on a campaign, he's still getting followers to lend a helping hand. There are a bunch of banners in Lima with "Jaime Bayly Presidente" written all over them.

Now, do I think he's going to win? No. Does he think he's going to win? Negativo. But he does believe in fighting a lost war. He's aiming to legalize drugs, abortion and gay marriages, and he wants to get rid of the army. Do people agree with him? Hah! And yet another Hah! Peru is one of the most conservative countries there is! He is fighting a lost war, indeed.

A few days ago, while I was in Lima, I watched the news and found out that the Catholic church is against Bayly. The archbishop of Lima called him a "clown." Isn't it ironic that right after the news, he had a comedian named Tongo write a song for his campaign right in his show? And the darned thing is truly hilarious. To my delight, politics are not about stiff men in suits anymore, but rather, the whole thing has become a circus. Bayly still has more than a year of campaign ahead of him... Let's see what else he's going to pull out of his hat.

See him in action after the jump.
