After Christian Nodal and Ángela Aguilar confirmed their romance to the world yesterday (June 10), the couple has received some backlash. Now Nodal is coming to the defense of their relationship while opening up about his time with Aguilar and his ex-partner Cazzu.
A little over two weeks after Nodal and Cazzu announced their breakup, the Mexican singer announced that he was in another relationship. Nodal and fellow música mexicana star Aguilar revealed that they are dating. In their story with Hola!, the couple emphasized that they became an item after Nodal split from Cazzu, whom he shares a child with.
Not so surprisingly, Nodal and Aguilar have received backlash from people who believe they could’ve been seeing each other while he was still with Cazzu.
On Instagram, Nodal posted a video where he talked for the first time about his new relationship with Aguilar. While also opening up about his breakup with Cazzu, he mentioned he wanted to clear the air about the rumors surrounding them.
“Since they hardly like gossip or made-up stories, out of respect for my ex-partner, out of respect for my daughter, and out of respect for my current partner, I wanted to give you some context,” Nodal said. “[Cazzu and I’s] time together ended in the best way possible. It was love that gave us the most beautiful thing we could have made together, which is Inti, my daughter who I will love forever.”
Nodal also denied the allegations that he cheated on Cazzu with Aguilar. The new couple previously shared that they remained close friends after collaborating in 2020 on the song “Dime Cómo Quieres.” Nodal doubled down on their statement that they became romantic with each other after his recent breakup.
“In that relationship [with Cazzu] there were never third parties, there was never infidelity,” he said. “Sometimes love simply doesn’t work out. Now I find myself living a beautiful experience with a woman I love, with a romance that took so many years for what is happening to happen and we are enjoying it.”
