Bad Bunny will soon return to the big screen. The Puerto Rican superstar is set to appear in Darren Aronofsky’s next film Caught Stealing with Austin Butler.

Though Bad Bunny has largely made his mark as a global pop star, he is no stranger to acting. He first appeared on TV in Narcos: Mexico in 2021. Bad Bunny crossed over into the movies later that year with a cameo appearance in F9. His first major film role came in 2022 in Bullet Train alongside an all-star cast that included Brad Pitt. Last year, Bad Bunny kissed Gael García Bernal in the Mexican luchador movie Cassandro.

Now Bad Bunny has his next acting gig lined up. According to Deadline, he is joining the cast of Aronofsky’s crime thriller Caught Stealing. The director is known for his Oscar-winning films like 2010’s Black Swan and 2022’s The Whale. Aronofsky’s next project will see Butler play a former baseball player who gets caught up in a crime-ridden New York City in the nineties. Butler and Bad Bunny’s co-stars will include Zoë Kravitz, Regina King, Matt Smith, Liev Schreiber, and Will Brill. There’s no info yet about Bad Bunny’s role or when to expect the movie.

Bad Bunny’s biggest film role yet would’ve been starring in Marvel’s El Muerto. He would’ve become the franchise’s first Latino superhero heading his own movie. But in June of last year, the movie was pulled from Sony Pictures’ release schedule. A month later, Bad Bunny was reportedly no longer involved with the project.

Last October, Bad Bunny dropped his latest album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana. The LP became his third consecutive one to debut atop the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. In support of the album, he embarked on the Most Wanted Tour across the U.S. in February. He wrapped up the tour in June with three consecutive concerts at El Coliseo in Puerto Rico.
