The competition is getting fierce on Drag Race: México this week. For episode 2×06, the eight remaining queens took on the Olympics through a design challenge. Grupo Firme member Jhonny Caz joined Lolita Banana, Taiga Brava, and Óscar Madrazo on the judges’ panel as the bottom two contestants later battled it out to an LGBTQ+ anthem by Danna Paola.

The episode opened with Lolita Banana and Taiga Brava warning the queens that the second design challenge of the season was on the way. Each contestant picked a gym bag representing a different sport. They were tasked with creating a brand-new outfit using the materials in their gym bags. For the first time, Madrazo entered the Werk Room to give fashion advice to the queens when they presented their ideas to Lolita Banana and Taiga Brava.

As the contestants were getting ready to construct their outfits, Caz surprised them by appearing in Jenary Bloom’s mirror. He sat down with them soon after and talked about coming out as gay in Grupo Firme’s “Enloquéceme music video. The drag queens applauded him for being queer representation in the música mexicana space. Caz added that he loves it when fans from the LGBTQ+ community come to his band’s shows practically dressed up in drag.

Over on the runway, the theme was National Drag Championship. With her whimsical tennis outfit, Luna Lansman became the first queen to win two challenges this season. Eva Blunt was also announced as a winner thanks to her reveal-heavy look made from volleyball materials. Another standout on the runway was Horacio Potasio’s soccer-infused bodysuit. The contestants then had to pick one of their competitors to go home, to which most of them named Unique and Suculenta.

The judges appeared to consider that feedback by deeming Unique and Suculenta as the bottom two queens. Each queen took a different approach to lip-synching Paola’s classic “Agüita. Suculenta tackled the song from a comedic angle, while Unique served a pop star experience. After previously eliminating Nina de la Fuente and Garçonne, Unique took out the last member of their drag family by sending home Suculenta in eighth place.
