On Drag Race México episode 4, the queens became showgirls for the Rusical challenge alongside the much-beloved reading challenge. In addition, the theme on the runway this week was gold and each contestant shined brightly with some of the best looks of the season. Co-hosts Valentina and Lolita Banana were joined on the judging panel by Óscar Madrazo and Acapulco Shore star Karime Pindter.

The episode kicked off in an epic way with the reading challenge.

The 9 remaining queens put on their flamboyant reading glasses to playfully insult each other. In one of the standout moments, Serena Morena compared Argennis to Puerto Rican singer Elvis Crespo. Valentina put a little more crema on the joke by telling Serena Morena to be more “Suavemente” with her reads. Gala Varo had the guts to read Valentina and Lolita Banana by saying that Drag Race México will finally allow for a Mexican queen to win the franchise.

Margaret y Ya ended up claiming her second mini-challenge win.

The Rusical that followed was called Dragapulco Shore, which was based on the Mexican spin-off of Jersey Shore known as Acapulco Shore. During rehearsals, Argennis, who was hurt by the jokes said about her in the reading challenge, and Pixie Pixie were shown to be struggling with the choreography. The latter got some help from Lolita Banana in locking the move down. And the clique of “Las Estelares,” which includes Regina Voce, Cristian Peralta, and Gala Varo, took on the lead roles and each queen excelled in what was a Rusical you have to watch to truly appreciate.

Over on the runway, the queens donned their best looks inspired by gold. Cristian Peralta was stunning in her gown which was influenced by the Aztec deity Quetzalcoatl. Religion was incorporated into many of the looks, including Pixie Pixie’s cape with a beautiful image of the Temple San Francisco Javier in Tepotzotlán. Regina Voce also looked gorgeous with her Mayan and Aztec twist on Cleopatra’s famous outfit.

Ultimately, Cristian Peralta’s snake fangs surprise helped her slither ahead of Regina Voce to win her second Maxi Challenge.

Unfortunately, Pixie Pixie’s showstopping look couldn’t save her from the bottom two.

She faced Argennis in lip sync to the classic “Mío” by “La Chica Dorada” Paulina Rubio. Argennis channeled her frustrations into a fierce lip sync where she jumped into a split and flipped off Pixie Pixie. Following the elimination of Vermelha Noir last week, her drag mother Pixie Pixie became the third queen to sashay away from the competition.
