Actress Melissa Fumero is beaming. The actress posted on Thursday (March 3) that fellow Cuban actors Olga Merediz (In the Heights) and Tyler Alvarez (Never Have I Ever) will be joining her in the cast of the upcoming Netflix workplace comedy series Blockbuster.

“There are THREE Cubans in this show, and I am EMOTIONAL about it!!” Fumero tweeted. “I have been a huge fan of [Olga Merediz] for so long, I am so stoked to be working with her. And you all gonna fall in love with [Tyler Alvarez].”

Fumero, best known for her role on the TV series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, was announced as part of the Blockbuster cast in mid-February. She will play Eliza, a mother who ends up working at the last Blockbuster video store in America after studying for one semester at Harvard University. The show is created by Vanessa Ramos (Brooklyn Nine-Nine).

In the series, Merediz will play Connie, a Blockbuster employee who is more interested in making friends than money. Her character description reads that “she’s the unintentionally blunt mother figure to not just the employees, but many of the Blockbuster regulars.”

Alvarez will play Carlos, a first-generation son of immigrants who learns English by watching movies. His character description reads that “he dreams of being a filmmaker but can’t help but feel like he owes it to his parents to live the American life they planned for him.”

Based on Alvarez’s recent posts on social media, it looks like he’s game for helping customers rent a few movies.

“Welcome to Blockbuster!” he wrote. “How can I help you?”

They are also joined by Madeleine Arthur (Snowpiercer), JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), and Kamaia Fairburn (Overlord and the Underwoods).
