The 2024 Oscars were a marked event for Latine’s in Hollywood. Several Latines were nominated for their cinematic talent this year, and while some category losses left fans feeling disappointed or robbed, there is no doubt that Latine fashion stayed winning on stage and on the red carpet. With custom looks that inspired a cultural moment and gave a new twist on modern menswear, here are our top ten Latine looks that defined the 2024 Oscars.

1

America Ferrera

Ferrera arrived in a fitted pink hourglass Versace dress. The heart shaped neckline and the hourglass silhouette was the final ode to the Barbiecore aesthetic that dominated summer of 2023.

2

Omar Rudberg

Young Royals star Omar Rudberg made his Oscars debut in a statement suit, sans the polished button down. Rudberg kept the look simple, opting instead for a punk-inspired nail in his suit lapel and silver rings that tied the look together.

3

Rita Moreno

Moreno, the 92-year-old EGOT winner, made a grand entrance in a black, dynamically ruffled Badgley Mischka gown that was paired with arm length opera gloves and a pixie black shag cut.

4

Taylor Zakhar Perez

The Red, White & Royal Blue star stunned in a blue Prada suit that stood out amongst a sea of black menswear. The jacket was complimented with a black button down and bow tie that completed the icy look.

5

Colman Domingo

The Rustin star arrived in a dapper, double-breasted Louis Vuitton suit and gold-tipped cowboy boots. Hollywood’s most fashionable rising star didn’t pass up the opportunity to shine, with silver David Yurman jewelry and a necktie brooch.

6

Becky G

The “Esquinas” artist shined in a crystal, nude-colored corset paired with a cascading high and low skirt that opened to a sleek pair of stilettos. The Vera Wang look was topped off with sultry long waves for her first performance at the Oscars.

7

Enzo Vogrincic

The Society of Snow star charmed in a bespoke Loewe suit with a broad waist sash, a raised collar, and an emblematic mountain-range pin atop his suit lapel. The look was finely tuned with the Uruguayan actor’s slick back hair.

8

Lupita Nyong’o

The Black Panther star stunned in a periwinkle blue Armani gown with enchanting elements, such as waist-drop feathers, and a plunging neckline. The meaning behind the custom blue, which in 2014, changed the course of Nyong’o’s career forever.

9

Ahnesti Monet McMichael

The beauty and lifestyle influencer arrived in a voluminous Sophie Couture dress. The off-the-shoulder-gown had a latex-like texture that held the gown’s shape as the Puerto Rican creator walked the red carpet.

10

Jessica Alba

The Honest Company co-founder and actress made a shining comeback to the red carpet for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Alba wore a silver, Tamara Ralph gown with a plunging neckline and an off-the-shoulder drape. The dress featured three dimensional flower appliques across the neckline and waist.
