NSQK is making waves in Mexico with his alternative take on reggaeton. Last night (May 13), the rising Mexican artist announced the dates for his 2024 Alter Ego Tour, which will include multiple stops in the U.S.

Amidst the emerging reggaeton mexa scene, NSQK is carving out his own path. NSQK (pronounced like the chocolate milk brand Nesquik) is the musical project of Rodrigo Torres. He was born in Monterrey, Mexico, and grew up in Houston, TX. His music is a reflection of both U.S. and Mexican cultures colliding. NSQK broke out in 2020 with “De Vez Cuando (Aparece),” which blends trap and R&B music. The song has amassed over 18 million streams on Spotify. He has since blended elements of reggaeton into the mix of his electronica tracks like “Lovelanguage” and “Sigo Al Pendiente.”

NSKQ announced his upcoming tour with a short film called Alter Ego. In the video, different versions of NSQK from throughout his career appear. As they chatted amongst each other, the most recent iteration of NSQK was missing from the meeting. The 2024 NSQK is most likely not present because he’s getting ready for the Alter Ego Tour.

The Alter Ego Tour will mark NSQK’s first round of shows in the U.S. The stateside leg of the tour will kick off on Oct. 3 at the Cine El Rey in McAllen, TX. Throughout that month, NSQK will also visit San Antonio, TX; Brooklyn, NY; Chicago, IL; and Los Angeles, CA. The tour will wrap up at the Voodoo Room in San Diego, CA.

Pre-sale tickets for the Alter Ego Tour will be available tomorrow, May 15, at 10 a.m. local time. Tickets for the general public will go on sale on Thursday, May 16 at 10 a.m. local time. NSQK has received co-signs from fellow Mexican acts like Latin Mafia, Ghetto Kids, and Legallyrxx.
