The 2026 Grammy Awards are showing more love to Latine music in the major categories. This morning (Nov. 7), the nominations were announced, and Bad Bunny and KATSEYE are among the top nominees from our communities.
Bad Bunny is making history at next year’s Grammy Awards. The Puerto Rican superstar received six nominations for his blockbuster album Debí Tirar Más Fotos. The LP’s commercial and pop culture impact on the world in 2025 was undeniable, leading up to Benito’s nominations in all the major categories. For the first time in a single year, Spanish-language music is represented in the Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Album of the Year categories. “DtMF” is up for Song and Record of the Year, while Debí Tirar Más Fotos is nominated for Album of the Year. With the Recording Academy inviting all Latin Grammy voters to participate in voting for the Grammy Awards this year, there’s a good chance that Bad Bunny could finally win Album of the Year. He is also nominated in the first-ever Best Album Cover category for Debí Tirar Más Fotos.
KATSEYE is nominated for the very first time at the 2026 Grammy Awards. The global girl group that was formed by K-pop juggernaut HYBE includes member Daniela, who is of Cuban and Venezuelan descent. As Remezcla correctly predicted in our list of Latine acts we’d hope to see considered for Best New Artist, KATSEYE is nominated in that category. Another Latine act up for Best New Artist is The Marías. KATSEYE also scored a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their viral hit “Gabriela.”
In the Latine categories, the usual suspects are up for Best Música Urbana Album. Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos faces competition from J Balvin, Feid, Yandel, Nicki Nicole, and Trueno. The Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album includes legendary acts like Aterciopelados and Fito Páez going up against CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, ASTROPICAL, and Los Wizzards. Fuerza Regida received their first Grammy nomination in the Best Música Mexicana Album category thanks to their joint EP with Grupo Frontera.
The Best Latin Pop Album category includes Karol G’s Tropicoqueta, Rauw Alejandro’s Cosa Nuestra, Andrés Cepeda’s BOGOTÁ DELUXE, Natalia Lafourcade’s Cancionera, and Alejandro Sanz’s ¿Y Ahora Qué?.
The 2026 Grammy Awards will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Feb. 1.
