By now, most of us are familiar with Cardi B‘s impressive success story. The Dominican-Trinidadian rapper rose to fame after appearing on VH1’s Love & Hip-Hop, transforming her social media success into a full-fledged rap career. Now Belcalis Almanzar is recounting her story in the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar. The interview finds Cardi opening up about motherhood, parenting, and her life in the spotlight, and an accompanying fantasy-style photo shoot is making the rounds on social media. The spread finds Cardi in shots inspired by famous fairy tales, like Cinderella, Rapunzel, and more.
The shoot even alludes to Cardi leaving the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party in September 2018, where she infamously threw a shoe at Nicki Minaj after the rapper allegedly commented on the Invasion of Privacy star’s parenting abilities. Though the photo is definitely inspired by Cinderella, many fans are pointing out the parallels between this image and the shot of a shoeless Cardi exiting the Fashion Week event.
