Feid is bringing his Medellín swagger to the Japanese music market. Over the weekend, the Colombian superstar teased an upcoming collaboration with Japanese rapper Yuki Chiba.
Feid made history on Sunday (Aug. 17) as the first Latine artist to curate his own stage at the Summer Sonic Festival 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. In addition to headlining the Beach Stage, he invited Tainy, Bomba Estéreo, and the Perro Negro DJs to perform their own sets as part of his Feliz Cumpleaños Ferxxo lineup. Other Latine performers at the festival included J Balvin, Camila Cabello, and KATSEYE, which includes member Daniela, who is of Cuban and Venezuelan descent. Feid appeared as a special guest during J Balvin’s set to perform their collaboration “Doblexxó.”
While in Japan, Feid also revealed that he has worked on music with Yuki Chiba. In the past decade, Chiba has become the face of the Japanese hip-hop scene. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with many artists outside of Japan, including OG Maco, Frank Ocean, Mariah Carey, and Will Smith. Last year, Chiba made his U.S. TV debut when he performed “Mamushi” with Megan Thee Stallion at the MTV Video Music Awards. Now, he is tapping into the Latine music market for the first time Feid.
Feid is jumping on a remix of Yuki Chiba’s hit song “OMETE.” He met up with Chiba in Tokyo and they performed part of the remix together in a video that was posted on Instagram. While Chiba hasn’t announced the release date for the remix yet, he did appear as a special guest during Feid’s set at Summer Sonic. For the first time, the duo performed the “OMETE” remix live together on the Beach Stage. Feid also brought out Yandel as a surprise guest and they performed their hits “Yandel 150,” “Brickell,” and “XQ Te Pones Así” together.
