Madonna closed out her Celebration Tour in an epic way in Brazil. On Saturday (May 4), the queen of pop made history with her concert in Rio de Janeiro, which included the country’s biggest stars, and broke attendance records.

Last month, Madonna announced that she would end her Celebration Tour with a final stop in Rio de Janeiro, and ultimately made history with her free concert at Copacabana Beach. Over 1.6 million fans came to see Madonna’s concert on Saturday, which broke a record for the largest concert for a stand-alone show by any artist. The concert was also broadcast live on the Brazilian network Globo TV.

While performing in Brazil, Madonna brought out two of the country’s top artists as special guests. Brazil’s premier drag pop star Pabllo Vittar joined Madonna onstage during her performance of “Music.” Vittar later reflected on Instagram about the experience of performing a samba-infused version of the Madonna classic. “I love you Madonna,” she wrote in the caption of her post.

Madonna’s second special guest was Brazilian superstar Anitta. She brought out the “Envolver” hit-maker during her performance of “Vogue.” Madonna and Anitta judged her dancers on the runway in the style of the queer ballroom scene. Anitta also shared words on Instagram about her time with Madonna.

“Yesterday was a historical night for my city Rio de Janeiro,” she wrote. “Madonna finished her tour at the Copacabana beach for more than 1 million people. Such a special time for all of us. I feel really honored you invited me to be part of this moment. You represent the freedom of a whole community that yesterday celebrated together your victory.”

Last month, Madonna performed five concerts at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. Her special guests included reality TV star Wendy Guevara, actress Salma Hayek, and Guillermo Rodriguez from Jimmy Kimmel Live!
