To celebrate the fifth anniversary of corridos tumbados in a special way, Belinda is giving us more of that Beli-bélica flair. Last night (Oct. 9), the Spanish-Mexican icon teamed up with rising stars Neton Vega and Kevin AMF for their collaboration, “Ni Fiestas Ni Flores.”

Corridos tumbados started taking off five years ago with the rise of the movement’s leader Natanael Cano and his colleagues Junior H, Fuerza Regida, and Adriel Favela. Cano talked with Remezcla in 2019 about the backlash they were getting at the time from the traditional música mexicana scene. “A lot of people were saying that we’re going to ruin music, but on the contrary, people are looking up our stuff, and new things are coming from it,” he said. This year, Belinda started embracing corridos tumbados with her songs “Cactus” and “300 Noches,” the latter featuring Cano. Now, she is paying homage to the movement with Spotify, Neton Vega, and Kevin MF.

“With this Spotify single, we’re celebrating five years of corridos tumbados,” she says in a behind-the-scenes video. “We’re building the future of this genre that is making history around the world.”

As a part of the Spotify Singles campaign to celebrate the subgenre, Belinda recorded “Ni Fiestas Ni Flores” with Vega and Kevin MF. Vega hails from Baja California and is most known for co-writing Peso Pluma’s hits “Rubicon” and “La People.” He recently featured on Peso’s song “La Patrulla” and Tito Doble P’s song “Linda.” Kevin AMF has become a viral sensation on TikTok with his hits “Dembow Freson,” “Jálale alav” with Bb trickz, and “Rich Kid.” Their collaboration with Belinda is an emotional corrido, where the three artists sing about struggling to move on from the memories of their exes.

“Ni Fiestas Ni Flores” is Belinda’s second new song this week. On Sunday night, she dropped her new single “Bugatti,” which was a return to Latine pop in her Beli-bélica era. Later this month, Belinda will release her highly anticipated collaboration with Kenia Os.
