After scoring one of last year’s biggest hits, Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado have reunited. Last night (May 9), Peso Pluma released his new single, “La Durango,” featuring Eslabon Armado and Junior H.

Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado changed the game for música mexicana last year. Their global smash “Ella Baila Sola” peaked at No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart. That song also became the first música mexicana top 10 hit on the chart. On Spotify, “Ella Baila Sola” was streamed over one billion times. Earlier this week, Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado teased a new collaboration on social media. That new song also features corridos tumbados pioneer and Peso’s frequent collaborator Junior H.

“La Durango” is even more of a corrido tumbado than “Ella Baila Sola.” The fits more of Peso Pluma’s brassy sound that he introduced on his Génesis album. Peso Pluma, Eslabon Armado’s Pedro Tovar, and Junior H take turns singing about how all of their hard work has translated into success that they don’t take for granted. Tovar lands a knockout line when he sings in Spanish, “Loyalty is what I look for and money I can easily accumulate.” The trio of artists tap into the resilient spirit of the corrido for this fiery collaboration.

Both Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado’s fans are praising “La Durango” online. On X, one person wrote, “peso eslabon armado and junior h making a song together is what saved me.” With a bandaged heart emoji, another person added, “Que chingon to see Peso Pluma and Eslabon Armado together again.”

“La Durango” will be included in Peso Pluma’s next album Éxodo, which will be released on June 20. Last month, he dropped the collaboration “Peso Completo” with Arcángel. The LP will most likely include his global hit “Bellakeo” featuring Anitta as well.
