Xavi has finally revealed some details about his highly anticipated debut album. Today (Sept. 20), the rising Mexican-American singer also released a new taste of the LP with his latest single, “Flores.”
Before blowing up with songs like “La Víctima” and “La Diabla,” Xavi dropped his first EP My Mom’s Playlist last year. As the title suggests, he put a música mexicana spin on his mom’s favorite songs like “Ahora Te Puedes Marchar” by Luis Miguel and “Rayando El Sol” by Maná. Xavi soon took this year by storm with his own romantic corridos like “Sin Pagar Renta” and “Corazón de Piedra.” Since then, Xavi’s comment section on social media is full of fans asking him for an album.
Earlier this week, Xavi cleared all his previous posts on Instagram – a pop signal of a new era to come. He then uploaded a new post where he announced that his debut album will be titled Next. “Album coming soon…,” Xavi wrote in the caption with a CD emoji. The post also includes what appears to be the cover of the LP with an animated Xavi having an angel and devil on each side of him.
Xavi also released a new song that will be on the album called “Flores.” In the fiery corrido track, he serenades his lover by saying he’ll shower with all the gifts in the world, including flowers. “Whatever you want, girl, I’ll give it to you / I’ll spend tons of cash on you because you’re worth so much,” Xavi sings in Spanish. There’s no word yet on when to expect Xavi’s Next album.
The singer recently released a cover of the song “Invéntame” by Mexican legend Marco Antonio Solís for an Amazon Music campaign. Next month, Xavi will perform at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards, where he received seven nominations.
