Pepe Aguilar will be honored at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards. In addition to receiving the special Billboard Hall of Fame Award, the música mexicana icon will perform at the ceremony next month.
Thanks to helping globalize música mexicana for over three decades, Aguilar will be honored with the Billboard Hall of Fame Award. He has carried on the legacy of his famous parents, Mexican legends Flor Silvestre and Antonio Aguilar. In addition to writing and producing his own music, Pepe has helped launch the careers of his children, Ángela and Leonardo. The Billboard Latin Music Awards will take place on Oct. 20 in Miami, FL.
“Receiving the Billboard Hall of Fame Award is an incredible honor, and it reminds me of the importance of continually evolving as an artist,” Aguilar shared in a statement. “After 35 years in this industry, I feel just as passionate and driven as I did on day one. It’s exciting to see how música mexicana is growing and evolving, and I’m proud to be part of that movement. What’s even more special is being able to connect with a new generation of fans while staying true to my roots. I’ve reinvented myself time and time again, and as music continues to evolve, I’m ready to keep pushing boundaries and creating something new.”
Aguilar will also perform at the awards show. He will most likely sing a song from his rock-infused album Que Llueva Tequila. He is joining the lineup of performers, which includes Xavi, Fuerza Regida, Yandel, Maria Becerra, and many others. The ceremony will air live on Telemundo and be streamed on the Telemundo App and Peacock.
As Aguilar celebrates this upcoming milestone in his career, he is also getting ready to release a new song tomorrow. From the teasers of the track so far, Pepe appears to open up about his thoughts on Ángela’s marriage to Christian Nodal.
