Selena Quintanilla’s ‘Dreaming of You’ Is Available on Vinyl 30 Years Later

It was 30 years ago today that the posthumous Selena album Dreaming of You was released. In honor of the LP’s anniversary, a remastered version of it will soon be available on vinyl.
Before her tragic murder on March 31, 1995, Selena Quintanilla was in the middle of recording her first English-language album. A few months after her death, Selena’s family decided to compile the few songs that she had recorded for the posthumous album Dreaming of You. The LP includes the heartfelt title track and the haunting “I Could Fall in Love With You.” The second half of it was padded out with her cover of “Tú Sólo Tú” and her Spanish hits “Amor Prohibido,” “Techno Cumbia,” “Como La Flor,” and “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.” After being released on July 18, 1995, Dreaming of You debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.
To celebrate the album’s 30th anniversary, Dreaming of You has been remastered for the first time. Selena’s siblings, Suzette Quintanilla and A.B. Quintanilla III, oversaw the remastering process. The remastered version of the LP will be released on vinyl, CD, and cassette on August 15 with updated cover art. Among the vinyl options are a special picture disc and one with the original cover art. Selena fans can now pre-order all iterations of the Dreaming of You 30th anniversary album here.
The remastered version of Dreaming of You is now streaming on all digital music platforms. Selena’s webstore also offers the remastered versions of her previous albums, Entre a Mi Mundo and Amor Prohibido, on vinyl. The Selena y Los Dinos documentary will be released on Netflix later this year.
