Bad Bunny brought out a Puerto Rican icon of el movimiento at his residency last night (Aug. 10). Residente was one of his surprise guests, and they performed a few Calle 13 classics together, like “Atrévete-Te-Te.”

Bad Bunny kicked off his “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” concert residency on July 11. Instead of touring the continental U.S., he is inviting his fans to see him perform at El Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan. So far, he’s performed 15 shows of the residency and has featured different special guests every night. During his most recent concert, he brought out Calle 13 frontman Residente.

Residente came out to lead the “marquesina party” section of the concert. His black shirt had three dates listed on it: 1868, 1950, and 2019. Those years were marked by uprisings seeking Puerto Rico’s independence and freedom from U.S. control. Residente, Bad Bunny, and Ricky Martin were a part of the 2019 protests, which led to the resignation of the island’s corrupt governor, Ricardo Rosselló.

Residente also performed many of his Calle 13 classics at Sunday night’s show. Bad Bunny took over for Julio Voltio when Residente sang “Chulin Culin Chunfly.” The crowd then went wild when Residente dialed it back to back to 2005 with his performance of Calle 13’s “Atrévete-Te-Te.” Residente also sang “Se Vale To’, To'” live with Benito.

Other special guests include Spanish actress Penélope Cruz, who got to say the now iconic “Acho PR es otra cosa” call during Bad Bunny’s performance of “VOY A LLeVARTE PA PR.” Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Kany García later came out to sing “LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii.” During Friday night’s show Bad Bunny paid tribute to late salsa legend Eddie Palmieri. His orchestra performed a part of Palmieri’s 1971 classic “Vámonos Pa’l Monte.”
Bad Bunny’s residency in Puerto Rico continues on Aug. 15.
