Becky G is taking aim at cheaters with her new single. Last night (Aug. 29), the Mexican-American pop star released the music video for “Como Diablos.” Becky G also announced the release date for her next album.
Becky G fully explored several genres of música mexicana with last year’s Esquinas album. For her follow-up, she is continuing to embrace her Mexican roots in her music. Earlier this year, she teamed up with Mexican singer Oscar Maydon for “Mercedes,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart. Now, Becky G is taking another stab at corridos tumbados solo with her new single “Como Diablos.”
“Como Diablos” is an emotional and fiery corrido where Becky G confronts an unfaithful partner. She cuts him down to size and cusses him out in Spanish. Though Becky G is more known for her collaborations in her música mexicana era, she proves that she can hold her own with a kiss-off corrido that serves as a big f-you to cheaters.
The music video for “Como Diablos” was directed by Leo Aguirre. For the first time in her career, she shot a video on location in Mexico. Becky G looks stunning among the chaos around her in fashions by Chicano designer Willy Chavarria. The song will be included on Becky G’s next album Encuentros, which will be released on Oct. 10. “Mercedes” with Oscar Maydon is also expected to appear on the música mexicana LP.
Earlier this month, Becky G announced the dates for her Casa Gomez: Otro Capítulo Tour. The tour will kick off at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL on Oct. 11. Throughout the rest of the month and into November, Becky G will make stops in cities like Atlanta, GA, Houston, TX, Ontario, CA, and Phoenix, AZ. The tour will wrap on Nov. 17 at Petco Park’s Gallagher Square in San Diego, CA.
