Becky G celebrated Valentine’s Day last night (Feb. 14) by tapping into her Mexican roots. She teamed up with regional Mexican music group Fuerza Regida for their new music video, “Te Quiero Besar,” a surprise collaboration.

“Te Quiero Besar” isn’t the first time that Becky G has dabbled in the regional Mexican music genre. Last year, she went with the sad sierreño sound of Marca MP in their duet “Ya Acabó.” Last Nov., Becky performed the song with Marca MP at Premios De La Radio. At the event, she also sang a mariachi version of her hit “MAMIII” while sharing a dance with Paquita La Del Barrio.

Now, Becky G has teamed up with Fuerza Regida for “Te Quiero Besar.” The love song blends the band’s fresh corridos sound with a kick of norteño music. Becky G trades verses with Fuerza Regida’s lead singer Jesús Ortiz Paz, also known as JOP, about a low-rider kind of love. They’re ready to cruise into their fans’ hearts with this peda-ready anthem.

In the music video for “Te Quiero Besar,” Fuerza Regida and Becky G perform the song together in front of a classic car and a more current luxury vehicle. Becky and JOP also dance with each other to their sweet duet.

Fuerza Regida is currently flying high on the charts. The band recently scored a global hit “Bebe Dame,” alongside Texan band Grupo Frontera. The song has climbed to No. 37 on Billboard’s all-genre Hot 100 chart. The collaboration follows the release of Fuerza Regida’s albums Pa Que Hablen y Sigan Hablando, which both dropped in Dec.

On social media, Becky G has seemingly teased a regional Mexican music project. She has posted videos singing along to classics like Ana Gabriel’s “A La Orilla De Un Palmar” and Ramón Ayala’s “Chaparra De Mi Amor.”
