Marco Antonio Solís surprised his fans during a concert with the music of Kendrick Lamar. While performing in Argentina, the Mexican icon danced along to the rapper’s hit song “Not Like Us.
Amidst his rap beef with Drake, Lamar took shots at the Canadian star last year with “Not Like Us.” The diss track once again surged in popularity earlier this month after Lamar performed the song during the Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans, LA, with his dance moves going viral on TikTok. This sparked fan edit videos on the platform, including one that compared Lamar’s choreography to El Buki’s moves at his concerts. Solís appeared to catch wind of the comparisons and leaned into them during his concert last night (Feb. 23) at the Estadio Centenario in Resistencia.
Solís donned a blue suit with a matching cowboy hat. Along with his team of vaquera dancers, they first danced to a mariachi song before the music changed to the opening beats from “Not Like Us.” Solís did a two-step and dropped it low as Lamar’s voice played through the speakers. He also gave concert-goers an eyeful when he was shaking his backside towards them. The music then seamlessly shifted back to mariachi as if Solís’ live mash-up with Lamar was a fever dream. At 65-years-old, Solís pulled off impressive choreography that artists way younger than him wouldn’t have the stamina to do.
El Buki’s impromptu performance to “Not Like Us” had everyone online cheering him on. In the comments of his Instagram post, Chiquis wrote, “Amazing!!!!!” Lupita Infante also commented with emojis of faces in awe. Lili Estefan also commented with emojis of clapping hands and the dancing woman. Solís definitely showed that he’s still got it, like in his Los Bukis days.
