Peso Pluma keeps making history with his career moves. Last Friday (April 28), he became the first regional Mexican music artist to perform on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The performance was also Peso’s U.S. TV debut.

Peso Pluma excited his fans last week by announcing his appearance on Fallon’s show. They were excited to see regional Mexican music and his corridos tumbados sound represented on a national stage in the U.S. “Peso Pluma with Jimmy Fallon. Wow, I didn’t expect it so fast. Neta that cabrón flew,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

Peso Pluma brought his bélico style to “The Tonight Show.” He performed a solo version of his duet “Ella Baila Sola” with Eslabon Armado. The song choice was kind of surprising, considering that Eslabon Armado released their new album Desvelado on the same day. “Ella Baila Sola” is Peso Pluma’s biggest song right now, but he’s also making waves with his other hit, “Por Las Noches.” Backed by a full band, Peso Pluma was all smiles as he sang the global No. 1 smash.

Following the performance, many of Peso Pluma’s fans were happy to witness him make history again. “The fact that Jimmy Fallon had Peso Pluma on his show… big W for Mexicans,” wrote one person on Twitter. “peso pluma on fallon made me cry lol — never in a million years did i ever think regional mexican music would be on american television. what a time to be alive,” wrote another fan.

The sky’s the limit for Peso Pluma. Last month, he launched his own record label Doble P Records. The Mexican rapper and singer also released the single “Rosa Pastel” featuring his label’s signee Jasiel Nuñez. During his appearance at Coachella, Peso Pluma also teased a possible collaboration with DannyLux in the works.
