Now that Raphy Pina is back home from prison, Natti Natasha is celebrating his return. Last night (June 6), the Dominican superstar released the music video for her new single “Quiéreme Menos,” which captures the moment of their reunion.
Last month, Pina started teasing his release from prison on social media. Back in December 2021, Pina was found guilty of two charges of illegal possession of firearms. On May 24, 2022, Pina surrendered himself to the custody of U.S. Marshalls. Nearly two years later, on May 13, he revealed that he was transferred from a federal prison in North Carolina to serve the rest of his sentence at a halfway house in Miami, FL. On May 24, Pina announced that he had returned home but was still serving his sentence under Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) custody.
Natti Natasha is dedicating her latest single “Quiéreme Menos” to Pina, who is also the father of their daughter Vida Isabelle. The bachata love song was written and produced by Aventura‘s lead singer Romeo Santos. The music video shows moments Natti and Pina shared together before he started serving his sentence. At the halfway point, she receives a phone call about his release from prison. The video captures their reunion at the airport and Pina’s return home.
“Romeo managed to capture the essence of what I feel for Raphy and everything he has given me while also making the lyrics universal,” Natti shared in a statement. “It is a privilege to be able to interpret this beautiful song, which comes from his pen and musical talent.”
According to the FBOP, Pina will officially complete his sentence and be free on Aug. 5. Natti Natasha has dedicated other songs to him before, including last year’s “La Falta Que Me Haces.”
