Fernando Tatís Jr. Signs With Bad Bunny’s Sports Agency — Here’s What We Know

Fernando Tatís Jr. is joining forces with Bad Bunny’s sports agency Rimas.

Tatís Jr., who hails from the Dominican Republic, made his MLB debut in 2019 with the San Diego Padres. Soon after that, he signed a 14-year extension contract with the team that was valued at $340 million. As the Padres’ star right fielder, Tatís Jr. was honored with the Silver Slugger Award a year later. During the 2021 season, Tatís Jr. hit 42 home runs, which was the most by any player in the National League that year. Now he is looking to take his career further with Rimas Sports. The management agency is a partnership between Bad Bunny and executives Noah Assad and Jonathan Miranda.

“We are major fans of Tatís Jr.’s accomplishments, his incredible dedication and work ethic, his passion on and off the field is unmatched, and we are confident that together we will continue to help him grow his professional repertoire and business acumen,” Miranda, CEO of Rimas Sports, shared in a statement. “All of us are excited to welcome him to our Rimas family and are proud of this big moment for the culture.”

Bad Bunny also celebrated the news of Tatis Jr. signing with Rimas in his Instagram stories. The “DtMF” hit-maker shared a video from the Rimas Sports account that Tatís Jr. hitting home runs to the sound of dembow banger “Tamboreo” by Donaty and Braulio Fogon. The message with the video reads: “All-Star, Silver Slugger, Platinum Glove… ¡Élite! We’re welcoming Fernando Tatis Jr. to our clubhouse!”

On the Rimas Sports roster, Tatís Jr. joins the Atlanta Braves’ Ronald Acuña Jr., the Colorado Rockies’ Ezequiel Tova, and Francisco Alvarez of the New York Mets. The agency’s website says it’s dedicated to the “next generation of great Latin American athletes.”
